Msty Studio Now Supports Z AI as an LLM Provider

This integration gives Msty Studio users yet another high-quality option for chat, coding, and creative work while also opening up more flexibility for those looking to combine cloud-based and local AI workflows.

Z.ai’s API is OpenAI-compatible, which means that developers could already connect to it in Msty Studio through the custom provider configuration. With today’s update, Z.ai is now natively supported, making it visible, selectable, and easily configurable in the Msty Studio interface without any manual setup.

One of Z.ai’s standout qualities is its flexible API key system. You can generate unlimited API keys, making it easy to use the same credentials across tools, whether you’re coding with Claude Code or chatting with Msty Studio.

This level of openness stands in contrast to other ecosystems that restrict API key usage to specific products or require proxy workarounds.

Simple Model Lineup, Strong Performance

Z.ai currently offers two primary models:

• GLM-4.6 – a high-performance model built for nuanced understanding and long-form reasoning
• GLM-4.5 a powerful general-purpose model that balances accuracy, reasoning depth, and efficiency across complex tasks
• GLM-4.5 Air – a lighter, faster alternative that still delivers excellent results for most everyday tasks

We've used both models and, again, we really appreciate the quality of responses, especially given the competitive pricing and when comparing against other similar tier models from other providers.

In addition to their API access, Z.ai makes many of their models available as open weights.

This means you can also run Z.ai models locally within Msty Studio’s local AI services.

Open Msty Studio, head to Model Hub > Providers tab, add a new provider, select Z.ai as your LLM provider, and add your API key.

Or, go to Model Hub > Local Models tab to install a Z.ai model locally.
