Msty Studio 2.8.0: Discover Hub, One Model Hub, and Native Provider Tools
Msty Studio keeps AI work organized by bringing models, knowledge, tools, and reusable workflows into one workspace. Version 2.8.0 makes that workspace faster to explore, easier to configure, and more reliable when using provider-native tools.
The previous 2.7.0 release introduced Media Studio, Turnstiles vNext, and Enterprise Desktop. Version 2.8.0 builds on that foundation with Discover Hub for reusable building blocks, One Model Hub for simpler model management, native provider tool presets, and reliability improvements across Msty Studio.
Find Useful Building Blocks Faster
Discover Hub gives Msty Studio a built-in place to find ready-to-use Skills, Turnstiles, Prompts, and Knowledge Stacks.
Instead of starting from a blank page, you can browse curated collections, search by name or tag, preview what an item does, and install it into your workspace with one click. The same flow works across each hub: search, filter, sort, preview, refresh, and install.
Skills can come from default or custom GitHub repositories. Prompts, Turnstiles, and Knowledge Stacks load from Msty Studio’s remote registries.
Manage Models in One Place
One Model Hub brings model setup and model management into a single area.
You can add cloud or remote providers, browse local models, search Hugging Face, import Ollama models, install models, track or cancel downloads, and manage installed models without moving between separate parts of the app.
For local models, Msty can choose the best available engine for your machine. On Apple Silicon, that may be MLX. In other setups, it may be Ollama, LocalAI, or LLaMA.cpp depending on what is available.
Search also supports different sources and formats, including GGUF and safetensors. Installed models from different engines now appear together in one searchable, filterable list.
Use Provider Tools Without Rebuilding Them
Msty Studio 2.8.0 adds native provider tool presets for web search, URL reading, web fetch, code execution, and browser search.
When a provider supports these tools, you can choose a preset instead of manually wiring everything up. Tool activity in chat is now easier to inspect, with reasoning and tool calls grouped into a compact expandable section and labels like “Used Web Search.”
Reliability Improvements Across Studio
Version 2.8.0 also includes fixes and refinements across Studio:
- Improved Knowledge Stack selection for longer lists.
- Clearer Media Studio context labels for images and videos.
- Simplified chat controls for users who do not need advanced options.
- Better onboarding with quick-start choices, model recommendations, setup progress, and easier cloud-provider setup.
- More reliable provider tool calling when tool-call IDs are duplicated or missing.
- Fixes for Media Studio session state, attachment visibility, and imported conversations.
- Better state restoration after minimizing Turnstiles or the Settings dialog.
A More Connected Studio Workspace
Msty Studio 2.8.0 makes the Studio workspace easier to set up, navigate, and extend with reusable building blocks.
