Why Privacy Comes First at Msty

When we started building Msty Studio, the question that kept coming up was:

Why do modern tools demand so much of us? Our data, our habits, our attention, all just to function?

Everywhere we looked, software was designed around gathering information. Telemetry. Tracking. Analytics dashboards. Endless profiling. It had become the norm, but it didn’t sit right with us.

So we decided to build something different.

A Studio That Doesn’t Watch You

From day one, we stripped out everything that wasn’t necessary. Msty products have no telemetry. We don’t monitor your activity. We don’t track when you log in, how often you use it, or what you’re working on.

We couldn’t, even if we wanted to. It’s simply not built that way.

The only data we might see is subscription-related info such as your name, email, and license key and even that is handled securely by our commerce partner, LemonSqueezy. Beyond that, we don’t know who you are. And honestly, that’s the point.

Your Work Stays With You

Everything you create in Msty Studio lives on your device. If you’re using Desktop, it’s stored right on your computer. If you’re using Web, it’s saved in your browser. Nothing is sent back to us.

When you connect online providers like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, your conversations will go directly to them using your own API keys. However, we never see the conversation. And if you don’t want anything leaving your machine at all, you can run local models and even simply disable your internet connection and continue to chat locally, safely.

Msty keeps working either way.

Internet, Only When Needed

The internet isn’t the backbone of Msty Studio, it’s a guest. The app calls out to the web only when absolutely necessary:

• To verify your license
• To fetch lists of available models
• To connect with Hugging Face or Ollama servers for model search and download
• To use real-time data for web searches that you enable
• To connect to online models you add your API key for
• Or to certain MCP tools that you choose to add

Outside of those cases, Msty doesn’t “phone home.” Your data stays yours.

Saying No to Easy Wins

Over the past year, we’ve had opportunities to take Msty in another direction. Investors have approached us and companies have floated acquisition offers. On paper, it all 'looked' exciting.

But every conversation ended the same way: their vision didn’t match ours. The industry still leans toward maximizing data collection, toward making users the product. That’s not who we are.

So we walked away. Because for us, privacy isn’t negotiable.

Not to say that we are closed off completely to outside relationships. But if it violates our principles, we won’t hesitate to say no.

Where We’re Headed

Our vision for Msty Studio is clear: a tool that’s simple, powerful, and PRIVATE. A place where your creativity isn’t monitored, your work isn’t stored on someone else’s servers, and your experience belongs to you.

We believe in this path to stay privacy-first. Because in the end, privacy isn’t an add-on. It’s the foundation. And at Msty, it always comes first.
