The controls are kept simple, with clear status while you speak, quick cancellation, and speech handling on your device.
Downloadable Models Strengthen Local Chat on iOS
Go on iOS supports downloadable models that run directly on supported iPhones, giving local chat a more independent path when you want to continue from your phone without depending on a computer.
Before enabling local model options, Go checks your iPhone and recommends models that are a better match for your device.
This makes local work on iOS more practical by keeping model downloads, model choice, and chat support on your phone.
Speech Model Setup Gives You Clearer Choices
Speech to Text setup separates Download and Use, so you can download a model to your device before choosing it for voice input. With multiple models available, you can choose based on speed, accuracy, language coverage, download size, and live text as you speak.
When the selected model supports live transcription, words can appear while you are still speaking, so longer voice input is easier to review before sending. If a model does not support live transcription, Go makes that clear, so you can choose a different model or use a lighter setup.
Sources Stay With the Response
Sources and citations are kept more reliably in chat, so when you rely on web pages or saved knowledge, the supporting material stays close to the response.
The source list is easier to review when you need to check an answer, with repeated sources cleaned up, useful details kept, and links or source references easier to inspect when you want to verify what supported the response.
Source-backed answers are easier to verify without breaking the conversation flow.

The release also brings practical refinements across everyday Go use:
